We visited this past Saturday Caral, the oldest civilization in the Americas, located four hours north of Lima in the Supe valley. Here you have a picture of the group at the entrance to the ruins.
I like to come because every time I do, there are new things that have been discovered since it is a still ongoing excavation. We began our tour with the explanation about the importance of Caral and how it was discovered in 1992, becoming one of the oldest civilizations in the entire world.
Smith, St. Thomas and Brown represented in this picture in front of one of the main pyramids.
Now the entire group (minus 3 who didn't come)
And the group with yours truly...
Walking through the complex takes about an hour and a half but is a great experience.
After Caral, we went to a restaurant in the city of Huacho (an hour away of the ruins) and some students decided to play a little while our lunch was getting ready. I joined them, of course, since one never loses her childhood spirit.
And then... a beautiful lunch!!!!!!!!!! And oh were we starving!!!
