visiting Caral, the oldest civilization in the Americas!

This past weekend we visited Caral, the oldest civilization in the Americas that goes back 5 thousands years!! Making it the third civilization in the world (after Mesopotamia and Egypt). Here we are at one of the main pyramids.

Have you seen the size of this corn?? Here it is called "choclo" and it is delicious! Better try it when you come. We had some before visiting the ruins.

The Sacred City of Caral is located in the Supe valley, 3 hours north from the city of Lima. You can see here how the desert and the valley get together. Did you know that Peru has 80% of the weathers that exist in the world?

We found different products while walking back to our van. Say aji!!

After visiting Caral we went to Bandurria which is even older than Caral!! Bandurria is considered a complex society, not yet a civilization. We are here at one of its amphitheaters.

Bandurria, unlike Caral, is located right next to the Ocean.

You can see the Pacific Ocean and a small lagoon called "Paradaise" that is the house of hundreds of birds. We really loved Bandurria!!!
