The Glimpse Correspondents Program is an opportunity for writers and photographers who will be living abroad in 2012 to have their work published and recognized in nationally renowned publications. Correspondents receive critical feedback on their writing and photography and develop a portfolio of highly accomplished work. Critically, at a time when many opportunities for emerging writers do not pay, Glimpse Correspondents receive a $600 stipend.
Previous correspondents have gone on to develop their stories into books, become professional journalists, enter MFA programs, and graduate from some of the country's top universities.
In the past year they've published stories about the journeys undertaken by North Korean defectors, day to day life in a South African township, struggles of the African-American diaspora in in Uganda, and the tenuous hope of post-Communist Poland as discovered by a burgeoning club star.
