I'm not doing the group flight at all, actually.  It's more expensive for me (living in California and all) to fly to JFK and then go on the group flight.  But I will see you at Orientation of course!  On the return home flight I'm going independent too, mainly because my family is also traveling at that time and I have to catch up with them.

Classes! For Medicine and Society I don't know anything more than the course description but I can imagine that gender will come into a play a lot. I've studied a bit of medicine/society for the eighteenth century, and women and their awkward social standing was all over the place.  Good old politics, the Church, and disease are going to be studied too.

It sounds like you have a real plan for studying abroad. I want to just go out and experience the UK too. I've read so much about it that I want to just absorb everything!  Like a cultural sponge!  Plus, I need ideas for my creative writing thesis.

As for sports, I fence at little and horseback ride. I recently tore my ACL, so I haven't been able to do any sort of sport since last December. When in England I'm hoping to hike a lot and go sightseeing and join some clubs. Cricket and football sound fun!

Hello again! I'm hoping to take HISH2B95C Medicine & Society before the 17th Century, HISH2A93C Anglo-Saxon England c. 500-1066, and LITC2W01 Creative Writing: Prose Fiction.  Did Beth contact you about getting those classes? I just sent in the Visiting/Student Course Unit Enrollment Form and checked to see if those classes were available.

I am very excited to go across the pond! Though a bit nervous too. I'm flying independently and haven't started packing at all. Just been reading British murder mysteries all summer (Agatha Christie & Sir Arthur Conan Doyle).  What part of this learning experience are you anxious about or, alternatively, most excited about?

Hey! I'm going to UEA as well!! I'm glad you found me.

I'm going to take history and (hopefully) a creative writing module.  What kind of modules do you want to take?
