this is all so so good to hear!!!!! (except for the broke part hahah oh geez :-/, but thats ok) this is awesome. thank you so much! that's really cool that you got into st johns if they only took about 5 or 6 americans! yeah..i really really hope i get into a college, but i'm just really excited. thanks again!!
hey! so, sorry to be sketchy and just randomly leave you a comment, but i'm applying to study at UQ in the spring, and i saw that you studied there and lived in st. john's! i was wondering what you thought about it/how it compared to emmanuel, bc i'm trying to decide which college to put down as my first choice :) thanks so much!!!
yeah man i did some research. turns out if you have bank of america, you can take out money for free at any WestPac ATM in aussie. They have a partnership...and there is a WestPac on campus. I emailed someone from St. John's about the formal wear. Sounds like khakis, a button down, and a tie should do it. They loan us the "academic robes." I'm getting f****** excited man
yeah it sounds like a lot of people were placed in housing where they didn't expect it. one of my friends expected to live on campus, but she is in an apartment. another one of my friends expected to be in an apartment but is going to be living in Emmanuel. A couple things are throwin me off a bit as far as packing. It says we have formal dinners...are you planning to pack really nice clothes? I was just gonna bring some khakis shoes and a shirt and tie - nothing over the top. and i hope they provide the "academic robes." for us. Also, I read that like sheets, pillows, and towels and stuff would be provided for us, but now I can't find that info sheet online again and i'm starting to wonder...
what are you doin for your money situation? my parents are real intent on me getting some traveler's checks
yeah as far as i know it's only the 3 of us (you, me, jon). it looks real nice and it has the least percentage of international students so i bet we'll meet lots of australians that can show us the ropes anyways. i'm pretty excited that it has a gym and a library and all that.
