Kia ora and congratulations on being accepted to IFSA-Butler’s New Zealand Study Abroad programme! I am really excited to welcome you and assist you during your stay in Auckland and your time Aotearoa!
My name is Emily and I am the Student Services Co-ordinator (SSC) for Auckland.
I will be meeting you upon arrival at the airport and helping you out during your time here in the beautiful New Zealand! I am thrilled to introduce your to your new home. Auckland is the largest city in New Zealand and is home to over one million people. Have a look at the Auckland city website for more information about what you can do in Auckland:
In Auckland you get to live and study in the heart of a big city, with all of its exciting benefits and be only minutes from the sea and breathtaking scenery. From your accommodation you will be walking distance from the main shopping street, transport centre, ferry terminals, and be surrounded by cafes, restaurants, and excitement. In Auckland there is always something new and thrilling to do!
Throughout the semester I will be planning fun events for you which will help you explore Auckland and greater New Zealand. I will plan a day trip, volunteer event, cultural event and much more. We will go on an activity packed adventure weekend down to Rotorua, where we’ll mountain bike in the redwoods of the Whakarewarewa Reserve, whitewater raft down the Kaituna River, and enjoy the local culture!
I can’t wait to meet you for orientation, and look forward to getting to know you over the upcoming semester.
